Back in 2013, National Geographic published a set of pics that aimed to capture what the average American would look like in 2050. Based on Census Bureau data that showed a rise in Americans checking more than one race on their identity cards, it was deduced that the future would be in interracial relationships and children. The photos of what our future generations may very well look like are beautiful.
In fact, the white race is on track for a steady decline over the next 30+ years. Pew Research noted that, “In 1960, the population of the United States was 85% white; by 2060, it will be only 43% white.” Whites have enjoyed an inequitable majority in this country since its founding. But that will change.
As we can see from this graph, the populations of other races are on the rise. Immigrants are the driving force behind the makeover. They’re contributing to society, culture, and the workforce in new and much-needed ways, building families and re-energizing communities. America is a nation made of immigrants: it’s our history, and our future.
Also, because of a cultural push left, more people are intermarrying, and have multiple-race children. In fact, today one in six marriages will be interracial. Can you imagine what that ratio will be in 30 years?
